Best Nutritional Bloggers 2018

The new year is well underway so we thought we would review the top 5 best nutrition and wellness bloggers to follow in 2018.

We will be focussing on the bloggers who are specific on what gives you the best vitamin intake, how supplements can contribute to a healthy diet and general healthy living advice or recipes.

The Food Medic

Dr Hazel Wallace AKA The Food Medic came to our attention when we saw her comprehensive advice on vitamins like the "sunshine vitamin", vitamin D.

She covers how vitamin D functions in the body including the processes involved in how Vit D is absorbed into the skin from the sun. Her medical background is apparent and we learnt a lot from her detailed information of how Vitamin D works in your body and how one can combat a Vitamin D deficiency.

She says that:

'Take a supplement. If you can’t be certain that you are getting enough vitamin D daily from your diet and you’re living somewhere less than tropical it is now highly recommended that you take a daily supplement, particularly through the winter months.'

Green Kitchen Stories

review of avocado soup by asterwell.com

Headed by husband and wife team David and Luise this is an awesome blog full of vitamin filled recipes you can try.

One which really stood out was their Avocado Soup (shown above) which we believe is ideal for a decent intake of anti-oxidants. This is because avocados are full of vitamin C and E both of which are potent anti-oxidants.

Every one of their recipes are also vegetarian which is a huge plus as we also have a focus on making the world more pro- veggie and interested in clean living. Their recipes can be found on their nifty app too!

Therefore this blog is great for anyone who wishes to reinvent their diet and get some recipe ideas.

Deliciously Ella

ella woodward

Ella Woodward shares our food philosophy of spreading organic style living around the world. She states that she tries to reap the most she can from plant based ingredients. Her journey into organic, healthy living started when she was diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, where her nervous, heart and blood pressure struggled to function normally.

What is inspiring though is that she made the best of the situation and started to investigate how she could manage her illness, and found that a whole foods, plant based diet was paramount in doing this.

Not only that but this diet contained recipes that were very healthy, like her Turmeric and Lentil Soup. She also did an interesting interview with Amelia Freer a now renowned nutritional therapist who struggled with her health as a teenager but found an interest in supplements and healthy living.

Amelia Freer is also a huge inspiration of ours. We took notice of her fantastic information on the health of the gut. She looks at how probiotic microbes support digestion and the creation of vitamins. You can check out her article here.
